The Standing Joint Committee on the Library of Parliament met at 11:15 a.m., this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Co-Chairs, The Hon. Vivienne Poy and Carolyn Bennett, presiding.
Members of the Committee present:
From the Senate : The Honourables Gérald A. Beaudoin, Elizabeth Hubley and Vivienne Poy.
From the House of Commons : Mauril Bélanger, Carolyn Bennett, Marlene Catterall, Ken Epp, Wendy Lill, Jerry Pickard, Guy St-Julien and Andrew Telegdi.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jay Sinha, Analyst.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(4)a), the Committee undertakes a Study of the Management of the Library of Parliament.
Witnesses: From the Library of Parliament: Richard Paré, Parliamentary Librarian; François LeMay, Director General, Information and Documentation Branch; Margaret Young, Analyst, Law and Government Division.
Mr. Paré made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 12:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
