An Act to establish a national standard for the
representation of dates in all-numeric
form

SHORT TITLE |

Short title

1. All-Numeric Dates Act.
|
|
|
PURPOSE OF ACT |
|
Purpose
|
2. The purpose of this Act is to harmonize
the representation of dates in all-numeric form
by establishing a national standard to that
effect.
|
|

MINISTER |

3. The Minister of Industry shall take such
measures as are necessary to promote the use
of the national standard provided for in this
Act in relation to the all-numeric
representation of dates.

NATIONAL STANDARD |

4. The standard to be used in Canada for the
representation of dates in all-numeric form is
that developed by the International
Organization for Standardization
|

5. An all-numeric date shall

6. The last two digits may be used to
represent the year

7. This Act shall come into force on a day
to be fixed by order of the Governor in
Council.
