SUMMARY |

The purpose of this enactment is to provide a means for anyone who
does not wish to receive telemarketing calls or faxes to place their
telephone number on a list maintained by the Commission.
|
|
|
|
This list is to be published quarterly in electronic form and must be
respected by telemarketers.
|
|
|
|
Telemarketers who fail to respect the list commit an offence. Those
who contravene a provision of the Act are liable to substantial fines
under the existing provisions of section 73 of the Act.
