SUMMARY

This enactment amends section 78 of the Competition Act. Under this section, the Competition Tribunal may make an order prohibiting certain persons from engaging in anti-competitive acts.

The enactment expands the definition of ``anti-competitive act'' and allows the Tribunal to prohibit a person holding a dominant position in the wholesale or retail market from engaging in

    (a) certain practices now viewed as anti-competitive acts; and

    (b) any other abusive and anti-competitive practice towards a competitor or supplier.
