1. Section 50 of the Parliament of Canada
Act is amended by adding the following
after subsection (1):
|

Recognized
political
parties
|
(1.1) The following definition applies in
subsection (2):
|
|
``recognized
political
party'' « parti reconnu »
|
``recognized political party'' means a party
that has a recognized membership in the
House of Commons that
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
2. Subparagraphs 50(2)(b)(i) and (ii) of
the Act are replaced with the following:
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
3. Section 62 of the Act is renumbered as
subsection (2), and is amended by adding
the following before subsection (2):
|
|
Recognized
political
parties
|
(1) The following definition applies in this
section:
|
|
``recognized
political
party'' « parti reconnu »
|
``recognized political party'' means a party
that has a recognized membership in the
House of Commons that
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
4. Paragraphs 62(2) of the Act are
amended by striking out the expression
``party that has a recognized membership of
twelve or more persons in the House'' where
it occurs in paragraphs (b), (d) and (f) and
substituting in each case, the expression
``recognized political party''.
