110. Subsection 2(1) of the Canadian
Payments Association Act is amended by
adding the following in alphabetical order:

foreign bank'' « banque étrangère autorisée »

``authorized foreign bank'' means a foreign
bank in respect of which an order under
subsection 524(1) of the Bank Act has been
made but does not include a foreign bank
that is subject to the restrictions and
requirements referred to in subsection

unless the Minister is satisfied that treatment
as favourable for companies to which this Act
applies exists or will be provided in the
jurisdiction in which the foreign institution
principally carries on business, either directly
or through a subsidiary.
