CONDITIONAL AMENDMENT |

|
42. If Bill C-44, introduced in the first
session of the thirty-sixth Parliament and
entitled An Act to authorize remedial and
disciplinary measures in relation to members
of certain administrative tribunals, to
reorganize and dissolve certain federal
agencies and to make consequential
amendments to other Acts, is assented to,
then

|
|
6. (1) The Board of Directors shall consist
of the Chairperson, the President and eight
other members.
|
|
|
|
|
|
(4) Each director, other than the
Chairperson and the President, shall be
appointed by the Minister, with the approval
of the Governor in Council, to hold office
during pleasure for a term not exceeding three
years that will ensure, as far as possible, the
expiration in any one year of the terms of
office of not more than one half of the
directors.
|
|
|
|
|
|
(3) The Board, with the approval of the
Governor in Council, shall appoint three
Vice-Presidents and fix their remuneration.
|
|
|
|
|
|
9. There shall be an Executive Committee
of the Board consisting of the Chairperson, the
President and three other directors selected by
the Board.
|

43. Subsection 18(2) of the National
Housing Act, as enacted by section 3 of this
Act, is deemed to have come into force on
January 1, 1997.
