1. The portion of subsection 322(1) of the
Canada Elections Act before paragraph (a)
is replaced by the following:

322. (1) On receipt of a registered party's
election expense return referred to in section
46 and the auditor's report referred to in
section 43 relating to the return, and where
less than thirty per cent of the total number of
elected candidates endorsed by the registered
party at the election in respect of which the
return and the report relate are women , the
Chief Electoral Officer shall, where the
registered party has obtained, at the election in
respect of which the return and report relate,
a number of votes at least equal to

2. The Act is amended by adding the
following after section 322.1:
|

322.2 (1) On receipt of a registered party's
election expense return referred to in section
46 and the auditor's report referred to in
section 43 relating to the return, and where at
least thirty per cent of the total number of
elected candidates endorsed by the registered
party at the election in respect of which the
return and the report relate are women, the
Chief Electoral Officer shall, where the
registered party has obtained, at the election in
respect of which the return and report relate,
a number of votes at least equal to

|
transmit to the Receiver General in respect of
the registered party a certificate setting out the
amount that is the percentage of the amount of
election expenses equivalent to the percentage
of the total number of elected candidates
endorsed by the party who are women up to
fifty-five per cent of these expenses.

Payment out
of C.R.F.
|
(2) On receipt of the certificate referred to
in subsection (1), the Receiver General shall
pay out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund to
the registered party to whom the certificate
relates the amount certified therein.
