An Act to amend the Canada Elections Act

      Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. (1) Paragraph 105(5)(a) of the Canada Elections Act is replaced by the following:

    (a) subject to subsection (6), between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. if the electoral district is in the Newfoundland, Atlantic or Central time zone;

(2) Section 105 of the Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (5):

Exception

(6) Where polling day occurs at a time when daylight saving time is in effect in the province of British Columbia but not in effect in the province of Saskatchewan, the votes referred to in subsection (5) shall be received between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. in every electoral district located in the province of Saskatchewan.
