RECOMMENDATION |

His Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of
Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances,
in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled ``An Act
to amend the Judges Act and to make consequential amendments to
other Acts''.

SUMMARY |
|
|
|
This enactment amends the Judges Act to provide changes to salaries
and in respect of eligibility for an annuity. It also makes additional
changes to the judicial annuity scheme. The enactment establishes a
Judical Benefits and Compensation Commission in place of the former
commissioners, who were convened every three years. It also provides
authority to pay additional appeal court and unified family court judges.
