SUMMARY

(a) allows for the making of orders prohibiting or restricting the production of records and the giving of information in respect of proceedings related to the enforcement of foreign trade laws set out in the schedule to the Act;

(b) expands the rights of recovery in respect of foreign judgments given in proceedings under antitrust laws and foreign trade laws set out in the schedule to the Act;

(c) allows for the blocking of recognition of foreign judgments given in proceedings under foreign trade laws set out in the schedule to the Act;

(d) increases penalties for breaches of orders made under sections 3 and 5 of the Act; and

(e) specifies the factors that must be considered in sentencing for offences related to breaches of orders made under sections 3 and 5 the Act.
