176. If Bill C-25, introduced in the second
session of the thirty-fifth Parliament and
entitled An Act respecting regulations and
other documents, including the review,
registration, publication and parliamentary
scrutiny of regulations and other documents,
and to make consequential and related
amendments to other Acts is assented to,
then, on the later of the day on which section
1 of that Act comes into force and the day on
which this section comes into force,

|
Status of
letters patent

(3) Letters patent are not regulations within
the meaning of the Regulations Act, but shall
be published in the Canada Gazette and are
valid with respect to third parties as of the date
of publication.
|
|
|
|
|
|
(9) Land use plans are not regulations
within the meaning of the Regulations Act.

177. (1) Subject to this section, this Act
comes into force 150 days after the day on
which it receives Royal Assent unless,
before that day, the Governor in Council,
by order, declares that this Act or any
provision of this Act comes into force on a
day or days to be fixed by order of the
Governor in Council.

(2) Subject to subsection (3), Part III, or
any of its provisions, and sections 127.1,
127.2, 130, 138, 139.1, 140, 141, 147.1, 148,
150, 151, 152, 154, 155, 159.2, 159.3, 160,
160.1, 163, 164, 165, 169 to 172, 174 and 175
come into force on a day or days to be fixed
by order of the Governor in Council.

Restriction
|
(3) Sections 169 to 171 may not come into
force before letters patent of continuance
are issued under section 8 in respect of The
Hamilton Harbour Commissioners
constituted pursuant to The Hamilton
Harbour Commissioners' Act.
