An Act to amend the Agreement on Internal
Trade Implementation Act

1. The Agreement on Internal Trade
Implementation Act is amended by adding
the following after section 9:
|
|
Deemed
approval by
all provinces
|
9.1 Where a proposal, made pursuant to the
Agreement, relating to
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
receives the approval of at least two thirds of
the provinces that have, in the aggregate,
according to the then latest general census, at
least fifty per cent of the population of all the
provinces, but does not receive the approval of
all provinces, the Governor in Council may,
by order, bring the proposal or a part of it
specified in the order in force, and the
proposal or part of it so specified shall, for all
purposes, including suspending benefits or the
taking of retaliatory measures under section 9,
be deemed to be in force under the Agreement
as if it had been approved by all provinces.
