RECOMMENDATION |
|

|
Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of
Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances,
in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled ``An Act
to establish the Department of Human Resources Development and to
amend and repeal certain related Acts''.

SUMMARY |
|
|
|
This enactment establishes the Department of Human Resources
Development with a presiding Minister to be appointed by commission
under the Great Seal of Canada, with the powers, duties and functions
as therein set out, and a Deputy Minister to be appointed by the
Governor in Council, with provision for employees.
|
|
|
|
It also provides that a Minister of Labour may be appointed and that
a Deputy Minister of Labour may be designated.
|
|
