References to Secretary of State for External Affairs

25. (1) The following provisions are amended by replacing the expression ``Secretary of State for External Affairs'' with the expression ``Minister of Foreign Affairs'':

    (a) paragraph 9(a) and section 32 of the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada Act;

    (b) subsections 40(3), 47(1) to (3) and 58(2) of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act;

    (c) subsection 10(1) of the Canadian Laws Offshore Application Act;

    (d) subsections 13(3) and 16(1) and paragraphs 16(3)(a), 17(1)(b) and 19(2)(b) of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service Act;

    (e) paragraph 3(2)(c) of the Citizenship Act;

(2) Every reference to the Secretary of State for External Affairs in any other Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under any Act of Parliament shall be read as a reference to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, unless the context otherwise requires.

References to Department of External Affairs

26. (1) The following provisions are amended by replacing the expression ``Department of External Affairs'' with the expression ``Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade'':

    (a) the definition ``coordinating department'' in subsection 2(1) of Schedule II to the Canada Elections Act;

    (b) section 26 of the Export and Import Permits Act; and

    (c) the definition ``head of mission'' in section 2 of the Federal Real Property Act.

(2) Every reference to the Department of External Affairs in any other Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under any Act of Parliament shall be read as a reference to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, unless the context otherwise requires.

References to Under-Secreta ry of State for External Affairs

27. (1) The following provisions are amended by replacing the expressions ``Under-Secretary of State for External Affairs'' and ``Under Secretary of State for External Affairs'' with the expression ``Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs'':

    (a) paragraph (d) of the definition ``veteran'' in section 1 of Schedule II to the Public Service Employment Act; and

    (b) subsections 9(2) and (5) and 14(2) of the State Immunity Act.

(2) Every reference to the Under-Secretary of State for External Affairs in any other Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under any Act of Parliament shall be read as a reference to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, unless the context otherwise requires.

References to ministre du Commerce extérieur

28. Every reference to the ministre du Commerce extérieur in any Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under any Act of Parliament shall be read as a reference to the ministre du Commerce international, unless the context otherwise requires.

References to Minister for External Relations

29. Every reference to the Minister for External Relations in any Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under any Act of Parliament shall be read as a reference to the Minister for International Cooperation, unless the context otherwise requires.

COMING INTO FORCE

Coming into force

30. This Act or any provision of this Act comes into force on a day or days to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
