SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Criminal Code to require that a presentence report contain information on any mental disorder from which the offender suffers.

An Act to amend the Criminal Code (presentence report)

R.‍S.‍, c. C-46

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1Subsection 721(3) of the Criminal Code is amended by adding the following after paragraph (a):

  • Start of inserted block

    (a.‍1)any mental disorder from which the offender suffers as well as any mental health care programs available to them;

    End of inserted block
