SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Inquiries Act to provide that the commissioners who conduct public inquiries must be appointed after consultation with the leader of every recognized party in the House of Commons and approval of the appointment by resolution of that House.

His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.S., c. I-11
Inquiries Act
1 Section 3 of the Inquiries Act is replaced by the following:
Appointment of commissioners
3 Insertion start If Insertion end an inquiry as described in section 2 is not regulated by any special law, the Governor in Council may, by a commission, appoint persons as commissioners by whom the inquiry shall be conducted Insertion start after consultation with the leader of every recognized party in the House of Commons and approval of the appointment by resolution of that House Insertion end .
