The Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Raymonde Folco, (House of Commons), presiding.
Members of the Committee present:
From the Senate: The Hon. Jean-Robert Gauthier, The Hon. Rose-Marie Losier-Cool, The Hon. Louis J. Robichaud.
From the House of Commons: Mauril Bélanger, Raymonde Folco, Yvon Godin, Grant Hill, Louis Plamondon.
Acting Member present: The Hon. Shirley Maheu for The Hon.Joan Fraser.
In attendance: From the Seante: Luc Bégin, Joint Clerk of the Committee. From the Library of Parliament: Françoise Coulombe, Research Officer.
Appearing: From the Department of Health: Allan Rock, Minister of Health.
Witnesses: From Health Canada: Laurette Burch, Director General, Intergovernmental Affairs Directorate, Policy and Consultation Branch.
In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108 (4)(b), the Committee resumed consideration on the application of Part VII of the Official Languages Act.
