SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Radiocommunication Act to provide that no fee may be charged for the issuance of a radio licence to a voluntary organization that provides emergency services.

An Act to amend the Radiocommunication Act (voluntary organizations that provide emergency services)
R.S., c. R-2
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The Radiocommunication Act is amended by adding the following after section 6:
Definitions
6.1 (1) The following definitions apply in this section.
“emergency services”
« services d’urgence »
“emergency services” means fire, ambulance, search and rescue and other related services provided in an emergency situation.
“voluntary organization”
« organisme bénévole »
“voluntary organization” means an organization that is primarily staffed by volunteers.
No fee charged
(2) Notwithstanding paragraph 6(1)(l), no fee may be charged for the issuance of a radio licence to a voluntary organization that provides emergency services.
