SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Customs Act to give designated customs officers the power to arrest without warrant and to release from custody in all cases where arrest without warrant by a peace officer is permitted, and release from custody by a peace officer is required, under the Criminal Code. The enactment also gives designated customs officers the power to deal with impaired driving offences.
