An Act to establish Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day

Preamble

Whereas the Parliament of Canada wishes to assist in efforts to enhance public awareness and understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder and the challenges faced by those who suffer from it;

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1This Act may be cited as the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day Act.

2Throughout Canada, in each and every year, the 27th day of June is to be known as “Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day”.

Wearing the colour teal

3On the 27th day of June, people are encouraged to wear the colour teal to indicate their support for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and to promote public awareness of the disorder.
