Statement by the Hon. Robert Nault, Chair of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas
MEDELLIN – It was with shock and sadness that I learned of the untimely passing of the Honourable Tobias C. Enverga Jr., Senator. He passed away while in Colombia to attend the ParlAmericas Annual Plenary Assembly. I along with members of the delegation attending the Plenary Assembly held a moment of silence this morning to mark his passing.
Senator Enverga was an active and dedicated member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas since his appointment to the Senate in 2012. His contributions to bettering Canada’s hemispheric relations through parliamentary diplomacy will be sorely missed.
On behalf of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas, I extend my sincere condolences to Senator Enverga’s wife Rosemer, his three daughters, his family and his friends.
