CANADIAN SECTION OF THE CANADA–U.S. INTER-PARLIAMENTARY GROUP GIVE THANKS
TO CANADA’S AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED STATES FOR HIS SERVICE
“On behalf of the Canada–United States Inter-Parliamentary Group (IPG), we would like to thank David MacNaughton for his exceptional service as Canada’s Ambassador to the United States,” said the Honourable Wayne Easter, P.C., M.P., Co-Chair of the IPG.
“He has without a doubt played a critical role in advancing Canada’s interests in the United States, including the renegotiation of our trade agreement as well as securing the removal of the steel and aluminum tariffs during his tenure as Canada’s Ambassador to the United States.”
Senator Michael L. MacDonald, IPG Co-Chair, added: “David MacNaughton has consistently supported the work of the Canada–United States Inter-Parliamentary Group and our mutual goals of strengthening and fostering relationships with our American counterparts and for this, and all that he has done on behalf of Canadians, we are grateful. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for playing a pivotal role in furthering the longstanding relationship between Canada and the United States.”
The Canada–United States Inter-Parliamentary Group aims to find points of convergence in respective national policies, to initiate dialogue on points of divergence, to encourage the exchange of information, and to promote better understanding among legislators on shared issues of concern.
