Foreword
In submitting this report on the broadcasting and availability of parliamentary debates in both official languages to Parliament, the joint chairs and the members of the Standing Joint Committee on Official Languages want to emphasize the importance and urgency of ensuring that more Canadians have access to the televised debates and proceedings of Parliament in the official language of their choice.
The Committee wishes to underline the outstanding collaboration and support given by the people who appeared before it to share their experience and expertise in this area.
The Committee would also like to thank the
researchers from the Library of Parliament’s Parliamentary Research Branch, as well
as the joint clerks and their support staff, for their invaluable assistance and
dedication throughout this study.
