SUMMARY
This enactment repeals paragraph 207(4)(b) of the Criminal Code to make it lawful for the government of a province, or a person or entity licensed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council of that province, to conduct and manage a lottery scheme in the province that involves betting on a race or fight or on a single sport event or athletic contest.

An Act to amend the Criminal Code (sports betting) |
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Short title
1 Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act.

Criminal Code
2 Subsection 207(4) of the Criminal Code is amended by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (a) and by repealing paragraph (b).
Coming Into Force
Order in council
3 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
