SUMMARY
This enactment requires the Governor in Council to amend the Health of Animals Regulations.

An Act respecting the Health of Animals Regulations (animals in transit)
C.R.C., c. 296; SOR/91-525
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. The Governor in Council shall, within 60 days after this Act comes into force, make the following amendments to the Health of Animals Regulations:
(a) paragraphs 148(1)(a) and (b) of those Regulations are replaced by the following:
(a) equines, swine or other monogastric animals for longer than 8 hours; or
(b) cattle, sheep, goats or other ruminants for longer than 12 hours.
(b) subsection 148(2) of those Regulations is replaced by the following:
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to ruminants that will reach their final destination in Canada where they may be fed and watered and rest without being confined for longer than 12 hours.
