SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Telecommunications Act to provide the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission with the authority to create and administer an administrative monetary penalty scheme for contraventions of its decisions or of the Act. It also streamlines existing summary conviction provisions and raises the associated penalties, and enables the Commission to share confidential information with the Commissioner of Competition.
