SUMMARY |

The purpose of this enactment is to prevent the CRTC from directing
that cable companies must provide specified programs in the channel
2 to 13 range and allow channel position to be determined by market
demand and viewer preference rather than administrative allocation. It
will allow cable companies to negotiate channel positioning with the
television stations.
