SUMMARY |

This enactment establishes a process for the initiation of a proposal
for a referendum on a specified legislative proposal or constitutional
amendment. The proposal is filed with the Clerk of the House of
Commons and thereafter the proponent may collect signatures to a
petition for the referendum. If sufficient signatures are obtained, a
referendum is held.
