References to Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources

37. (1) The following provisions are amended by replacing the expression ``Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources'' with the expression ``Minister of Natural Resources``:

    (a) the definition ``Federal Minister'' in section 2, the definition ``first fiscal year of offshore production'' in subsection 218(1), sections 219, 223 and 226 and paragraph 227(b) of the Canada-Newfoundland Atlantic Accord Implementation Act;

    (b) the definition ``Federal Minister'' in section 2 of the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Resources Accord Implementation Act;

    (c) the definition ``Minister'' in section 2 of the Canadian Exploration and Development Incentive Program Act;

    (d) the definition ``Minister'' in section 2 of the Canadian Home Insulation Program Act;

    (e) subsection 10(2) of the Canadian Laws Offshore Application Act;

    (f) the definition ``Minister'' in subsection 2(1) of the Canadian Ownership and Control Determination Act;

    (g) the definition ``Minister'' in subsection 2(1) of the Cooperative Energy Act;

    (h) the definition ``Minister'' in section 2 of the Energy Efficiency Act;

    (w) the definition ``Minister'' in subsection 2(1) of the Petroleum Incentives Program Act;

(2) Every reference to the Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources or the Minister of Forestry in any other Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under an Act of Parliament shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be read as a reference to the Minister of Natural Resources.

References to Department of Energy, Mines and Resources

38. (1) The following provisions are amended by replacing the expression ``Department of Energy, Mines and Resources'' with the expression ``Department of Natural Resources``:

    (a) subsection 13(3) and sections 17 and 28 of the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act;

    (b) section 25 of the Energy Monitoring Act;

    (c) section 12 of the Energy Supplies Emergency Act;

    (d) the definition ``Department'' in section 2 of the Explosives Act;

    (e) subparagraphs 241(4)(d)(v) and (vi) of the Income Tax Act;

    (f) subsections 3(3), 4(2) and 48(2) of the Canada Lands Surveys Act; and

    (g) subsection 7(2) of the Canada Oil and Gas Operations Act.

Other references

(2) Every reference to the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources or the Department of Forestry in any other Act of Parliament or in any order, regulation or other instrument made under an Act of Parliament shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be read as a reference to the Department of Natural Resources.

REPEALS

Repeal of R.S., c. E-7

39. The Department of Energy, Mines and Resources Act is repealed.

Repeal

40. The Department of Forestry Act, chapter 27 of the Statutes of Canada, 1989, is repealed.

Repeal

41. An Act to amend the Department of Forestry Act and to make related amendments to other Acts, chapter 44 of the Statutes of Canada, 1992, is repealed.

COMING INTO FORCE

Coming into force

42. This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
