Meeting No. 151 | April 20, 2016 |
The Joint Interparliamentary Council met this day at 3:36 p.m., in room 356-S of the Centre Block, Leo Housakos, Senator, presiding.
Representing the Senate: Donald Plett and Jim Munson, Senators.
Representing the House of Commons: Bruce Stanton, Hon. Wayne Easter, Scott Simms, Dave Mackenzie, Matthew Dubé for Irene Mathyssen and Ginette Petitpas Taylor, MPs.
In attendance:
From the International and Interparliamentary Affairs Directorate: Patrice Martin, Deputy Principal Clerk, Parliamentary Associations; Gérald Lafrenière, Principal Clerk, Parliamentary Exchanges and Protocol; and Gilles Larocque, Manager, Resource Planning and Administration
From the Senate:Khatera Akbari, Acting Manager, Financial Policy, Planning and Corporate Reporting.
From the House of Commons:Stefany Rockburn, Senior Financial Advisor, Policy and Financial Planning.

1. Approval of Minutes:
On motion of Dave Mackenzie the minutes of the meeting of April 13, 2016 were adopted.
2. Motion:
It was agreed, that the Clerk of the Council be authorized to make the necessary arrangements to provide light working meals for the Council and its subcommittees.
3. Study of the Associations Budgets (2016-2017):
On motion of Dave Mackenzie, the Council discuss the budget in camera.
At 4:10 p.m. the sitting was suspended.
At 4:23 p.m. the sitting resumed
It was agreed that, pending approval from the Senate Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration, the final budget allocation for the fiscal year 2016-2017 be as follows:

It was agreed that the Co-Chairs of the Council write to the Chairs and Co-Chairs of all associations in order to invite them to explain how they will adapt to the allocated budget and share with the Council any concern they may have with respect to the said budget.
At 4h50 p.m., the Council adjourned to the call of the Co-Chairs
