Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of
Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances,
in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled ``An Act
to amend the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act and the
Parliament of Canada Act''.

This enactment amends the Members of Parliament Retiring
Allowances Act to set out the cost of elective service for members of the
House of Commons and Senators who make an election after January
1, 2001 in respect of past service. There are also some technical
amendments to that Act.
|
|
|
|
This enactment also amends the Parliament of Canada Act to
provide salaries to Chairs and Vice-Chairs of Special Committees.
