SUMMARY |
|
|
The Land Titles Act has been repealed with respect to the Northwest
Territories and the Yukon Territory, but remains in force with respect to
Nunavut.

|
|
This enactment changes the meaning of full age (of majority) in
various provisions of the Act to eighteen years. It ensures that ``infant''
and ``infancy'' in relation to land transactions will also mean a person
under eighteen. The Act will then be interpreted consistently with the
definition of ``child'' proposed by the United Nations Convention on
the Rights of the Child as a person who is less than eighteen years old.
