1. Subsection 2(2) of the Canadian Forces
Superannuation Act is replaced by the
following:
|
|
Definition of
``child''
|
(2) Words in this Act referring to the child
of a person include a stepchild of that person,
a child born of that person and another person
who were not married to each other at the time
of the birth who, at the time of that person's
death, was being maintained by him and was
wholly or substantially dependent on him for
support, and an individual adopted either
legally or in fact by that person while the
individual was under eighteen years of age.

CARRIAGE BY AIR ACT |
|
|
2. Section 1 of Schedule II to the Carriage
by Air Act is replaced by the following:
|
|
|
1. The liability shall be enforceable for the
benefit of such of the members of the
passenger's family as sustained damage by
reason of the death of the passenger.
|
|
|
In this paragraph, reference to a ``member
of a family'' is to a wife or husband, parent,
step-parent, grandparent, brother, sister,
half-brother, half-sister, child, step-child or
grandchild.
|
|
|
In deducing any such relationship, no
person who is an adopted person or who was
born of persons who were not married to each
other at the time of the birth shall be excluded
from that relationship solely by reason of
being adopted or having been born of persons
who were not married to each other at the time
of the birth , as the case may be.

3(1) of the Pension Act is replaced by the
following:

``child'' « enfant »
|
``child'', in relation to a member of the forces
or a prisoner of war, means a child born of
that member or prisoner and another
person, whether or not that person was
married to that member or prisoner at the
time of the birth , or a stepchild, an adopted
child or a foster child of that member or
prisoner;
