SUMMARY |

This enactment allows electors to petition for a referendum on
proposed legislation or a constitutional amendment and provides for the
question to be put to the electors and for the procedures for establishing
committees to coordinate the advocation of and the opposition to the
question.

Proposed legislation that is approved is deemed to have passed
second reading in both Houses and proposed constitutional
amendments that are approved are deemed to have been moved as
motions in both Houses.
