SUMMARY |

This bill provides that, before certain companies can sell lists
containing personal information obtained by them, they must send a
notice to every one whose name appears on the lists.

The notice must contain

In addition, companies that have purchased a list and use it for
business or charitable purposes must send a notice to every individual
who is contacted.

This bill applies to companies that employ one or more people on or
in connection with a federal work, undertaking or business as defined
in section 2 of the Canada Labour Code.
