An Act to amend the Public Service Staff Relations Act and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act

      Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

PUBLIC SERVICE STAFF RELATIONS ACT

1992, c. 54, s. 32(2)

1. Paragraph (e) of the definition ``employee'' in subsection 2(1) of the Public Service Staff Relations Act is repealed.

2. Part I of Schedule I to the Act is amended by striking out the following:

Royal Canadian Mounted Police

    Gendarmerie royale du Canada

3. Part I of Schedule I to the Act is amended by adding the following in alphabetical order:

Civilian employees appointed or employed in accordance with section 10 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act

    Personnel civil nommé ou employé conformément à l'article 10 de la Loi sur la Gendarmerie royale du Canada

ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE ACT

4. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act is amended by adding the following after section 47.5:

Non-applica-
tion of certain Acts

47.6 (1) For greater certainty, the Canada Labour Code does not apply to members, and members are not part of the Public Service within the meaning of the Public Service Staff Relations Act, nor part of the public service within the meaning of section 11 of the Financial Administration Act.

Non-applica-
tion of para. 7(1)(e) of Financial Administratio n Act

(2) Members are not part of the public service of Canada for the purposes of paragraph 7(1)(e) of the Financial Administration Act.
