SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Jobs and Economic Growth Act to extend the period during which the Public Service Superannuation Act applies to persons who were employees of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. on the day of the disposition by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited of the securities of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

Jobs and Economic Growth Act

1Subsection 2148(2) of the Jobs and Economic Growth Act is replaced by the following:

Transitional period

(2)Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. forms part of the public service for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act, as if the Treasury Board had so directed under paragraph 40.‍1(2)‍(a) of that Act, for a period of Insertion start four Insertion end years beginning on Insertion start September 13, 2015 Insertion end .

Transitional Provision

Non-application

2Subsection 2148(3) of the Jobs and Economic Growth Act does not apply in respect of the per­iod beginning on September 13, 2018, and ending on the day on which this Act receives royal assent if, within 90 days after that day, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. makes the payments that would have been required to be made under that subsection in respect of that period had this Act received royal assent on September 13, 2018.

Coming into Force

September 13, 2018

3Section 1 is deemed to have come into force on September 13, 2018.
