Canada-France Interparliamentary Association meets in Paris

The Canada-France Interparliamentary Association held its annual meeting in Paris at the National Assembly and Senate of France from May 19 to 22, 2015. Established in 1965, the Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The issues discussed at the annual meeting included security and the fight against terrorism, as well as climate change and the energy transition, in connection with the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, also known as the Paris 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 21).

The Canadian and French delegations of the Association expressed their support for a successful outcome to the conference, whose goal is to reach an agreement that sets new greenhouse gas emissions targets for all nations.
